About Us
The Marton Arts & Crafts Centre is a volunteer run non-profit organisation, based in Marton, Rangitīkei. It's primary purpose is to promote, foster and encourage the creative arts.
The centre offers space for like minded people to come together and create. We run a regular calendar of tutored classes and social groups. Classes are run by skilled tutors, while social groups encourage creative companionship and the enjoyment of participants' preferred mediums. To add variety we run a series of workshops throughout the year
We also hold regular events such as the Makers Market and Christmas Bonanza - these provide opportunities for the public to meet and celebrate our region's creatives. Our members participate in ajoining regional arts activities such as The Whanganui and Manawatu Art Trails, they also enter invitational Regional Shows.
Marton Arts & Crafts runs an annual fundraising exhibition which features the work of several guest artists, and highlights the work of our talented members. Our next show will be held on September 2024. The opening date has been confirmed as Friday evening September 12th 2024 with the centre opening to the public on the Saturday following.
